‘Call Your Mother’ ABC’S Newest Comedy
By Erin
“Call Your Mother” is the newest comedy to premiere Wednesday, January 13th (9:30-10:00 p.m. EST), on ABC. It’s a coming of (middle) age journey you can’t miss! It’s also the comedy we all need right now during these trying times that will bring a smile to your face and laughter to your heart. 💜 ♥️ ❤️
Jean, an empty-nester mom, wonders how she ended up alone while her children live their best lives thousands of miles away. She decides her place is with her family, and as she reinserts herself into their lives, her kids realize they might actually need her more than they thought.
The series stars Kyra Sedgwick as Jean Raines, Rachel Sennott as Jackie Raines, Joey Bragg as Freddie Raines, Emma Caymares as Celia, Austin Crute as Lane and Patrick Brammall as Danny. Kari Lizer is the creator and executive producer; Tim Kaiser and Pam Fryman serve as executive producers on the series. “Call Your Mother” is from Sony Pictures Television & ABC Signature.
I had the chance to watch the newest episode the other day and take part in a zoom interview with the cast afterwards. Here are a few fun things they shared with us.
*The creator of the show, Kari Lizer chose the state of Iowa for the show because she loves it there. Her son worked in Iowa and the people are so nice there. It seemed like a good place to come from rather than LA.
*Ripper the dog’s real name is Orbit and he is just an actor. As much as everyone loves him and say he brings great therapy to all on the set, he is NOT a therapy dog.
Kari Lizer, the producer hopes that everyone will find the show funny and bring a smile to their face and laugh. People have lost connection during the pandemic. This is a show where people find each other again and make new connections.
Episodes can also be viewed the next day on demand and on Hulu.

This looks cute. I am a fan of kyra sedgwick and think she’d be funny in the mom role
I haven’t heard about this before your post. Looks like it will be a good show!
