Disneyland Mint Julep Cocktail

One of the most nostalgic drinks to me is the Disneyland Mint Julep Cocktail. Disneyland celebrates its 67th birthday on July 17th. “To all who come to this happy place: welcome.” – Walt Disney, On July 17th, 1955 at the opening dedication of Disneyland Anaheim, California — Disneyland, the only theme park designed and built under the direct supervision of Walt Disney. Walt Disney’s metropolis of nostalgia, fantasy and futurism. The $17 million theme park was built on 160 acres of former orange groves in Anaheim, California, and soon brought in staggering profits. This year Disneyland celebrates it’s 67th Anniversary, so what better way to celebrate than with one of these refreshing cocktails!

About Disney’s “Moana”: From Walt Disney Animations Studios comes Moana, a sweeping film about an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together they sail across the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds. Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she’s always sought: her own identity. Rated PG.

About Disney’s “Mulan” (1998): Clever Mulan proves her worth outside of her tradition-bound society when, disguised as male soldier “Ping,” she bravely takes her father’s place in China’s Imperial Army. Helped by her outrageoulsy funny guardian dragon Mushu and a lucky cricket named Cri-Kee, Mulan strives to earn the respect of her fellow warriors and their courageous Captain Shang. Mulan’s adventures lead to a climactic battle atop the Imperial Palace, where her family’s honor and the fater of the Emperor and all of China rests in her hands. Rated G.

Minnie Mouse Hot Cocoa Bombs are a super cute addition to the Hot Cocoa Bomb rage. Add some Disney Magic to your Hot Cocoa! It’s bound to put a smile on your face as well as the rest of the family!

Minnie Mouse Hot Cocoa Bombs

Makes 8-10 Hot Coco Minnie Mouse Bombs

Ingredients

2 Silicone Sphere Molds – found on amazon

1 – 30 oz of Ghirardelli Milk Chocolate melting wafers

2 cups of hot cocoa mix

1 disposable piping bag

1 cookie sheet fitted with wax paper

2 cups Mini Marshmallows

1 package of Wilton Royal Icing Bows

Directions

This part is 100% optional and a personal choice:

Cut the silicone molds so that each sphere mold is by itself as shown
here. I did this because I felt it was easier to control
the mold when working with the melted chocolate.

Making hot cocoa bombs

Use a paper towel or clean kitchen towel and wipe the inside of the
silicone molds. This will allow your chocolate mold to have a shiny
coat on it.

Remove about 16-20 size matching pieces of the melting wafers and set aside.
