Earlier this month I told you about the awesome Knott’s Merry Farm events currently going on over at Knott’s Berry Farm. They will  now be having an awesome New Year’s Eve Party, which I will be attending thanks to Giga Savvy. Snoopy sure knows how to party, so it is sure to be a blast! If you need a fun, family-friendly place to celebrate and ring in the new year, then come and check out what Knott’s has to offer!   With special fireworks, live entertainment, extended hours with Knott’s signature rides and attractions, it is bound to be a night to remember!

KNOTT’S IS READY TO PARTY ON NEW YEAR’S EVE

New entertainment includes Krazy Kirk and the Hillbillies along with a dramatic midnight countdown with fireworks. Knott’s New Year’s Eve celebration is the place to ring in 2014.

Special one-night-only entertainment serves up family fun for a variety of ages and interests, including the Midnight Party on the Midway! Count down the New Year with music, stilt walkers, party hats, and noisemakers for everyone.

What’s New This Year?

*Knott’s Sky Cabin,  will be adorned with special lighting effects and spectators will watch as it dramatically rises to the top of the “K” tower to count down the final moments of 2013. The cabin will reach the top at the stroke of midnight and the skies above Knott’s will be ablaze with colorful fireworks!

Knott’s Halloween Haunt & Scary Farm 2013 Preview! #ScaryFarm

Knott’s Halloween Haunt 2013 Preview!

By: Erin

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I was invited out by the Knott’s PR/Social Team to preview this event. All thoughts and opinions remain my own.

Have you been to the Scary Farm? If you have, then you know the excitement and planning that goes into it every year and how frightful it can be. The other week, I had the pleasure of attending Knott’s Scary Farm 2013′Preview/Media event.

Knott's Scary Farm

As the 41st year of the Knott’s Scary Farm Haunt creeps up on us, with all it’s guts and glory, it is exciting to announce what’s in store for this treasured Haunt!  The 41st year of this annual Haunt promises more fright, more fun, more foreboding than the past 40 years have wrought. What is there already for this year’s haunt you ask? Read below to find out!

Mortals who were there to announce this years tales from the crypt:

  • Jeff Tucker – Supervisor of Live Shows
  • Brooke Walters – (Design Supervisor) Designer of Haunt mazes such as Doll Factory, Virus Z, Terro Dominion of the Dead, Trick or Treat
  • Lara Hanneman – (Director of Entertainment Production)
  • Daniel Miller –  (Design Specialist) Pinocchio Unstrung,  Delirium, Black Magic
  • Timothy “Gus” Krueger – (Design Specialist)  Uncle Willy’s Slaughterhouse, Dia de los Muertos, Endgame

Returning Mazes:

  1. Trick Or Treat: Ummmm I don’t think I’d really want to go Trick or Treating here! Trick Or Treating in a witches house? No Thanks! 😉
  2. Pinocchio: Unstrung – Murderous marionettes seeks the flesh of maze visitors to cover Pinocchio’s twisted, wooden body. Sounds like some twisted puppet string fun?
  3. Delirium – The stuff that nightmares and insanity is made of. Fun times right? Maybe if you like being scared… 😉
  4. Uncle Willy’s Slaughterhouse – This just sounds wrong. A deranged butcher runs a barbecue restaurant? Don’t think I’d want to eat at this restaurant!
  5. End Games – Gladiators battle to the death for the entertainment of the rich and powerful. Some good clean gory fun never hurt anyone, right?

What would the Halloween Haunt be without the Knott’s Design Team using their haunted twisted powers to create a few NEW terrifying mazes to spook the living daylights out of you. All in the name of fun of course. 😉

Guest Post from Mary @ Along Comes Mary!! “Happiness is…. Snoopy (on Ice!)

Since I’m away from the “office” right now in Minnesota visiting relatives and such, I had asked two of my good friends to do a guest post for me! So here is the 1st one from Mary at Along Comes Mary, so be sure to click on her link and check out her place for some great posts on Gluten-Free recipes and events going on around Southern California!!  Here she posted about a fun summer event that you can go to in SoCal! <3

Wanna know a secret? I wish I was an ice skater. Ever since I was young, it has secretly fascinated me. I remember being mesmorized by The Winter Olympics & would judge the skaters & their routines….then, in the middle of wanting to be just like all the girls when I grew up…Tonya Harding & Nancy Kerrigan happened….I was crushed something so horrible would happen, especially between 2 gorgeous, accomplished, talented women!!:-( I think thats when I re-thought my dream sport, but in recent years, I have loved watching it again…& have very badily ice skated here & there! 😉

So, you can imagine my excitement when on one of my afternoon jogs around Knotts Berry Farm with my Mom, that they had just unveiled a new ice show for summer, Happiness is…Snoopy! We went into the Charles M. Schultz Theatre thinking it would be…good. With the Peanuts dressed up & dancing…but we got so much more than we bargained for! This is a full production a la “The Ice Capades”; with a huge cast of professional ice skaters, including 1 couple who blew our minds!! It begins with an amazing western round up, then from there we are treated to Charlie Brown & friends at the beach, on a road trip, hitting up the party scene (even with a great cover of Get The party Started…I love that song), On a rainy day, Lucy looking to draw with her crayons (with the skaters in adorable crayon outfits) and…even….just for the girls…Justin Beagle!!!;-) With the cast doing an adorable number to the Biebs’ Baby, Baby.

If you will be headed out to Knotts in Buena Park this Summer, this is truly a must-see & makes Knotts even more of a top destination visit. The theatre is HUGE, easily 3,000 seats. We were lucky to get in the 5th row but keep in mind the seats are just like at any other kind of theatre, so little ones might struggle a bit to see unless they’re on a grown ups lap or maybe bring a booster seat of some kind. It runs afew times each day with the exception of 2 days a week (You can call Knotts to find out & confirm). Its also a great chanch to rest in the very cold a/c if its a hot day out there! It would surprise me if anything in the show scared the kiddos, but you never know; some parts the lights go extra down (In the ‘Stormy’ sequence was one part). Its a very up-beat, happy show with something to see no matter where you are looking, & the solo acts the lead dancers get to do were remarkable!:-)
