It’s springtime! When I think of spring, I think of garden tea parties, sitting out in the backyard with the roses in full bloom, sipping some delicious Bigelow Tea with some good friends. When I think of tea parties, scenes from Alice in Wonderland, elegant Victorian decor and ladies with their pinky fingers stuck up in the air come to mind. I have some very old, yet amazingly beautiful tea cups and tea pots that I’ve just been itching to use to have a tea party with as they’ve just been sitting around in the china cabinet, collecting dust for quite a while now. These cups and pots hold a lot of family history as I imagine they have been through many tea parties before. Some of them can even be traced back to 1910 when my great-great grandmother Carlson owned them. As spring has been approaching us, I’ve been getting more and more excited to finally host a tea party with these beauties! I gathered up a few friends who I know enjoy tea and tea parties as much as I do, and we started to plan our afternoon tea party to celebrate spring with Bigelow Tea! This led to a trip to Wal-Mart to go buy some of my favorite tea, Bigelow Tea, as well as some other much needed items, which you can see the full shopping trip here, in my Google+ Album!
Bigelow Tea is very reasonably priced compared to its competitors. Bigelow Tea has been among my all time favorite teas for many reasons, including the price. Being a long time family run business, for over 60 years to be exact, I know they are family oriented, and care about the quality and flavor of every single cup of tea. Every bag is super fresh, when you tear one open, you are welcomed by a wonderful aroma for your senses to engage in. Not all teas live up to these standards. But Bigelow Tea does, and it is perfect to share with your loved ones. There’s nothing better than spending some time with good friends over a marvelous cup of tea!
Tea time is usually scheduled from mid to late afternoon. We scheduled ours for 1:30pm. Traditionally it’s a between meal snack that is a lot more elegant than a bag of chips or a candy bar from the vending machine. It doesn’t have to be fancy (although it is much more fun that way in my opinion!) the meal often includes savory, bite size sandwiches, scones or biscuits, and sweets along with a comforting pot of tea.
The day of our Spring Celebration we had a blast setting up and choosing what tea cups we wanted to use. It ended up being a beautiful spring day for us to enjoy some time together sipping our Bigelow Tea with our pinkies up. 😉
The blue, white, and gold tea pot above is from 1910! Looks pretty good for being over 100 years old I think!
Spring Time is Tea Time with my favorite tea and tea cup!
The adorable tea sandwiches that we made out of the cookie cutters we bought at Wal-Mart! We added Easter Candy as a nice Spring touch to go with our Spring/Easter Celebration Theme.
Our labor of love. I think it turned out pretty well, if I do say so myself! Now we’re ready to enjoy a lovely cup of tea together!
Melody, her adorable daughter, Chey and my friend and fellow blogger, Kirsten. Dressed up for a Spring Celebration Tea Party! Ready for a Spot of Tea? We sure are!
Myself and Kirsten enjoying our tea as we chit chat about life, kids, blogging, and everything else in between.
Would you like to join us? Here’s a seat for you to come enjoy a nice cup of tea and some sandwiches! Enjoy!
Chey enjoying her special tea time with the girls! She loved the chocolate strawberries, and licking all the chocolate off first before eating the strawberry! Smart girl! She also very daintily enjoyed her tea sandwiches.
Chey and her mom, showing off their beautiful tea wears.
I hope you enjoyed our Spring Celebration with Bigelow Tea. Whatever your reason for hosting your next tea party, enjoy a cup for me! 😉

I’m a tea lover. I do tea parties in the summer inside when it gets too hot for the kiddies to go out and play. We all have to pretend to be someone else. Last tea party I had, my 6 year old nephew decided to be T-REX and had to drink his tea from a straw because his arms weren’t long enough!

Your Bigelow tea party looks fabulous! I love that you used the vintage tea pots and cups and that your friends even dressed up….so cool! Your sandwiches look very yummy and super cute cutting out some like bunnies. Too bad I don’t live in LA…I might have crashed your party with my pinky in the air! LOL
