Girls Glamping Trip to Ventura Ranch KOA
By Erin
*We were invited by KOA Ventura & GoRVing to come enjoy a fun girls weekend at the new cabins. All thoughts & opinions remain my own.*
I am sure I am not alone in needing a nice relaxing weekend away with some good friends to just unwind and destress. My friends and I have been wanting to plan a trip together for awhile and going glamping is a great way to spend time with your friends, enjoy good food and drinks, and be able to admire the beautiful surroundings without giving up all the comforts of home.
One of my good friends Monica planned this amazing glamping trip to KOA Ventura Ranch for us girls. I have been here once before and a lot has changed since my last visit as the Thomas fire destroyed a large part of the campgrounds. The cabins we stayed in are brand new, and are just gorgeous. I did not want to leave!
When I arrived, I was just in awe of the views around our cabin. It is breath-taking. All around you is lush, green trees, hills, and grass. You get that camping feeling with the picnic tables, fire wood, fire-pit, BBQ and all the beautiful nature surrounding you, but then you turn around and see the cabins and know you aren’t giving up the amenities of home that you’d rather not live without. Just look at this view!
The two cabins we stayed at are the first cabins in the United States to have an upper deck that is the perfect spot to enjoy your cup of coffee in the morning or to watch the sunset with a glass of wine in the evening.
Whether you want to go glamping or camping, the Ventura Ranch KOA offers something for every type of camper. From luxurious cabins, to fun teepees, or if you want to bring in your own RV to one of the campsites, there are options to suit everyones tastes and needs.
The cabins had everything we needed. You first walk into the living room, which has a couch with a pull out bed and a dining table.
Then it flows into the kitchen that is completely stocked with everything you will need to prepare your meals; including a stove, microwave, coffee maker, refrigerator and dish washer.
There is also a very spacious bathroom with hot water and a shower that also has soaps, shampoos and towels for your use.
The Master Bedroom is also pretty spacious and very bright with plenty of light. The upstairs loft area has mattresses and blankets. There is also heat and A/C in the cabins as well as wi-fi.
We kicked off our weekend by opening some bottles of our favorite Ammunition Wine and toasted to an amazing weekend ahead. It was so relaxing to unplug and just sit out on the porch, enjoy the beautiful sunset while sipping on some wine and catching up with good friends. No phones, no TV, no laptops, just good old fellowship and enjoying each others company. That night we ate, we drank, we played board games, did some karaoke and just had a good time.
The Santa Paula Creek is not far from the cabins and can be heard from the cabins. You can take a dip in the Big Foot Water Hole. Since the pool was closed for the winter season, you can bet that is just what we did after breakfast.

We decided to head into town for dinner. We dined at Enzo’s that is located in the historic Glen Tavern Inn. It is a very historic inn and the food was delicious! Pasta and steak are the highlights on the menu, but be sure to try the bread too! It is delicious!
The next morning we thought it would be fun to do some yoga together down by the Tee-pees and river using our new CGear Sand-free yoga mats.
What better way to achieve a zen state of mind than by doing some yoga out in nature on a beautiful, peaceful Sunday morning? After our yoga session and having some breakfast, we said our goodbyes and headed back home to reality.
The next time you want to have a girlfriends getaway weekend, be sure to keep KOA Ventura Ranch in mind! It is the perfect place to enjoy some glamping in a beautiful location with your girlfriends. We had the best time here and I cannot wait to go back! Now I want to go on another vacay! Where to next? 🙂
