Good-Luck Redd
By Erin
In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, I wanted to share with you about a special little horse named Good-Luck Redd, and lucky he is indeed! Good Luck Redd, aka Redd, was foaled on April 14th, 2009 by Redattore (BRZ) x Good Lady Luck. He is a Thoroughbred gelding, standing at 16.1 hands, that was retired in 2012 with 8 starts, 1 second, and an earnings of $1,154. He was rescued not that long ago from a private party underweight with dermatitis. Poor guy! Lucky for him, he fell into the hands of the right people that would be able to take care of him and nurse him back to health.
Redd was found at a local boarding stable via a friend’s vet, being several hundred pounds underweight and had a severe case of derminitis under his belly.
Redd’s First Days.
After a couple months, Redd was surrendered and started his rehab.
Such a gentle horse, who shows no signs of any remorse towards humans and seems greatful for the new care he’s recieving.
Redd after a bath. He still has a long way to go with his derminitis as it has effected his hair folicals.
Redd has been adopted as a lower level Dressage horse with a wonderful couple who has 3 other retired horses.

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
May you have as good a fortune as Lucky Redd has had lately. 😉
What a beautiful and touching story! I hope that all animals in need are that lucky.
