D23: The ultimate Disney Fan event September 2022

It’s almost time for the most magical event of the year! Disney fans around the world will once again gather in Anaheim, California, on August 9, 10, and 11, 2024, for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event presented by Visa, a one-of-a-kind experience showcasing the very best in creative storytelling and innovation from across The Walt Disney Company. This year, D23 has been revamped to be more expansive and more immersive than ever before, offering fans access to more of what they love from across the worlds of Disney at an amazing value. With returning fan favorites and new surprises, this extraordinary event will feature three days of marquee showcases and presentations, an expanded show floor with the latest from Disney brands and partners, increased shopping opportunities, and a week-long celebration of Disney fandom leading up to the event. Disney shared a sneak peek at programming, logistics, ticketing, and D23 Member benefits in anticipation for D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event. D23 also debuted the key art for the event featuring Sorcerer Mickey, a nod to the very first event in 2009.

“This August at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, we’re excited to give tens of thousands of our biggest fans an experience like no other,” said Asad Ayaz, Chief Brand Officer, The Walt Disney Company. “Disney has the most powerful brands and passionate fans in the world, and we’re taking D23 to a whole new level this year to give them more of what they love from across the worlds of Disney in one incredible weekend.”

EVENT PROGRAMMING

Honda Center
This year D23 is introducing a new venue for some of the programming, allowing bigger shows with more magic to the biggest audience of Disney fans in the world. For the first time ever, the Honda Center will be home to three nights of marquee showcases. Friday night will begin with the star-studded Disney Entertainment Showcase, featuring exclusive looks at the movies, series, and stage shows fans love and a glimpse of what’s next.

Saturday night will showcase Disney Experiences, featuring the latest on new and highly anticipated projects in development around the world for Disney parks, experiences, and beyond.  The weekend will conclude Sunday evening with a special ceremony to celebrate the 2024 class of Disney Legends, hosted by Ryan Seacrest.  This year, the Walt Disney Archives is honoring Colleen Atwood, Angela Bassett, Martha Blanding, James L. Brooks, James Cameron, Jamie Lee Curtis, Miley Cyrus, Steve Ditko, Harrison Ford, Mark Henn, Frank Oz, Kelly Ripa, Joe Rohde, and John Williams.

D23 Day at the Disneyland® Resort
Before the magic of Disney comes to life during D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, guests can kick off the weekend’s festivities at the first-ever D23 Day at the Disneyland Resort on Thursday, August 8. Disneyland Resort will welcome D23 fans from rope drop to late night featuring unique offerings for fans including a custom cavalcade and an energetic dance party at Disneyland Park, and special photo opportunities, specialty foods, themed merchandise, and more at both parks. Bringing the Magic Closer to Fans than Ever Before!

 Hey Disney fans! Get ready to create unforgettable memories and become part of the story when Disney On Ice presents Mickey’s Search Party comes to Southern California this holiday season!  This brand-new immersive ice skating experience brings the magic closer to fans than ever before through engaging elements that take place on the ice, in the air and in the seats, as performer athleticism mixes with acrobatic and aerial stunts to bring skating skills to new heights.  An exciting participatory adventure told through multi-leveled performances that immerse fans into the fantastic worlds of Disney-Pixar’s Coco, Frozen, Moana, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid, this all-new show will be skating into the Southland playing in L.A, Anaheim, Long Beach and Ontario from December 12th – January 5th!

Embark on a quest with Mickey Mouse and pals as they follow Captain Hook’s treasure map for clues to find Tinker Bell after he attempts to capture her magic.  Journey across the Marigold Bridge with Miguel from Disney-Pixar’s Coco into the magnificent and mystical Land of the Dead and discover a vibrantly colorful performance with skeletons atop sway poles dancing over the audience in a beautiful cultural celebration of family.  Travel to the wintry world of Arendelle and sing along with Elsa as video projection creates a kaleidoscope of crystals to help build her ice palace.  Witness Belle lift into the sky as the enchanted chandelier comes to life high over the ice for onlookers seated above and below.  Board the Jolly Roger and laugh hysterically as the hilarious pirates flip, tumble, and twist on air tracks, stilts and more in an effort to showcase their talents for Captain Hook.  Sail away with Moana on her daring voyage across the ocean and bravely encounter the fiery wrath of Te Ka. Make memories with your whole family during Aladdin, Toy Story and The Little Mermaid as the search party becomes an all-out magical celebration!

Swim Along With Me to Monterey Bay!

Have you seen her? Come take a deep dive with Dory and I as we swim along with 24 other swimmingly amazing bloggers to the #FindingDoryEvent! It all starts bright and early Monday morning, as I’ll be flying into San Jose. Throughout the event, we will be meeting a ton of amazing filmmakers, including 2-time Oscar-winning Director Andrew Stanton, and animators, and I am so excited! One of the other major highlights of the trip that I cannot wait for, is that we will be spending some time at the Monterey Bay Aquarium! I have had a lifelong love of sea life, at one time wanting to be a marine biologist, and even earned a special medal for Marine Biology and the Life Sciences my senior year in high school. I also have logged in hundreds of volunteer hours at our local aquarium, the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific, so you can say I am just a little excited to get to visit the Monterey Bay Aquarium again! 🙂

The mission of the nonprofit Monterey Bay Aquarium is to inspire conservation of the ocean. Having the opportunity to learn so much about the follow-up to Disney’s 2003 Finding Nemo at the Monterey Bay Aquarium makes for the perfect setting, going behind the scenes to learn of all the research that went into the making of Finding Dory.

 The Monterey Bay Aquarium is a showcase for the habitats and sea life of one of the world’s richest marine regions. Housing more than 35,000 creatures and representing over 550 species fill 34 major galleries. With nearly 200 exhibits in all, the Aquarium is a window to the wonders of the ocean.

Disney•Pixar’s Finding Dory reunites everyone’s favorite forgetful blue tang, Dory, with her friends Nemo and Marlin on a search for answers about her past. What can she remember? Who are her parents? And where did she learn to speak Whale? Directed by Andrew Stanton (“Finding Nemo,” “WALL•E”) and produced by Lindsey Collins (co-producer “WALL•E”), the film features the voices of Ellen DeGeneres, Albert Brooks, Ed O’Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Eugene Levy and Diane Keaton. Finding Dory swims into theaters June 17, 2016.
