One of my favorite restaurants that I grew up dining at with family and friends is celebrating 40 years in my home town of Lakewood, CA. Black Angus is celebrating its 40th anniversary in the Lakewood community, and, to celebrate, they are giving away free meals and outrageous deals all day long on Sunday, September 29th! So come on in and join the celebration! Try your luck and maybe you will win a free entree ($30 value) on your visit!

Black Angus will be celebrating by picking up the tab (up to $30 value) for one lucky guest’s entree every hour from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. There will also be unbeatable deals all day long, including $4 beer and appetizers available to guests throughout the restaurant.

I HIGHLY recommend getting the Crispy Fried Garlic-Pepper Zucchini! It was delicious! I want some more now, just thinking about it. Yum.

Steak & Lobster Mac & Cheese

Your choice of 6 oz. Center-Cut Filet Mignon or 8 oz. Certified Angus Beef® Top Sirloin, paired with rich and creamy Lobster Mac and Cheese, with chunks of sweet lobster and five cheese sauce under a crispy breadcrumb crust. Served with a Classic Sidekick and warm molasses bread. If you love mushrooms, make sure to get this as an add-on, I love the flavors it adds to the Filet Mignon!

Pink Pomegranate Punch

Bacardi Lime, Patrón Citrónge, pomegranate, and fresh orange, garnished with sugared rosemary and pomegranate seeds.
Drink Pink! In October, $1 from each Pomegranate Punch will be donated to the Breast Cancer Charities of America. I loved this drink! It was very refreshing and not overly sweet.

Pumpkin Bread Pudding

The perfect way to end your meal! Spiced pumpkin bread pudding, served warm with vanilla ice cream. So good! Even though we were stuffed, we managed to devour this one. There wasn’t a drop left of it on the plate. That’s how good it was. 🙂

FitMealz: A Healthier Choice Delivered Straight to Your Doorstep!

I’ve just recently tried FitMealz, a meal prepping delivery service based in Orange County, CA. Think personalized, hand-made, ultra healthy meals hand-crafted by a professional chef. So far I like it.

If you’re serious about living a healthier lifestyle, you know that eating healthy is about 80% of the battle. Meal prepping can be time consuming and without it, you could easily increase your chances of eating junk or unhealthy foods.

“Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.”

So what is meal prepping? Meal prepping is essentially preparing your meals throughout the week, so that you can eat healthy and save time away from the kitchen. However, finding a routine can be a daunting task.

Just like me, I assume that most of us are pretty busy in our day-to-day lives, so it can be hard (or nearly impossible) to cook all of your meals at home, for each day.

That’s why I’ve decided to give FitMealz a try. They provide healthier meals that are simple and delicious.

Like this chicken dish that’s sautéed with fresh herbs and spicy marinated sauce that pairs perfectly with the fresh steamed vegetables and wholegrain rice. SO YUMMY!

Here are a couple of other meals I have been able to try so far, all of which have been very fresh and delicious. From the chicken, to the ground turkey and salmon, each have been seasoned with different herbs and spices to give it an amazing flavor.

All items are interchangeable or optional. This week I decided to try their baked lean chicken breast. Next week could be different. To get started you can order their meals here.

New dishes will be cycled into their menu every 2-3 weeks.

Final Thoughts:
Being fabulously fit can be time consuming. So if you’re looking for meal preps in OC, I would recommend you to check them out! OH, AND ALSO! A neat advantage that separates them from the competition is that they donate 5% of their net proceeds to a variety of organizations around the world who are combatting hunger and nutritional deficiencies on a global scale. So what better way to live a healthier lifestyle, and making a difference at the same time.

Last year the airplane was taken out of the “Airplane” Park for refurbishment. This jet refurbishment became a labor of love to build something that would honor our veterans in a powerful and special way. On Memorial Day, the new and improved Veteran’s Memorial debuted to thousands of spectators as all in attendance remembered and honored the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation. The Douglas F3D-2 “Skyknight” fighter, now is back on its pedestal in all its glory commemorating men and women who died while in military service. Take a look at the new and improved memorial that is here at Del Valle Park in Lakewood, CA.
