Veggie Grill: Taste and Believe

Veggie Grill: Taste & Believe

By: Erin

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I was invited out to try some of their new summer items as well as some of their favorites! All thoughts and opinions remain my own and I have enjoyed coming here ever since I found out about this place last summer! 🙂

I am not a vegetarian by any means. I do LOVE a good steak or other well prepared piece of meat. In my attempt to eat healthier and fresher foods and finding alternatives to your typical unhealthy fast food joints, I found this place. Veggie Grill! They have locations throughout Southern California, Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Veggie Grill serves  food you can feel good about. They are proudly committed to serving 100% plant-based food. No matter what you enjoy at Veggie Grill, you can be assured that your food has no meat, dairy, eggs, cholesterol, animal fat or trans fat in it. It’s so good, that you’d never know it was vegetarian. 😉

Veggie Grill

I arrived at the Veggie Grill in Hollywood at The Dome on Sunset. I was pretty hungry as we had just walked over from the El Capitan after seeing a preview of the new Monsters University movie. I loved how clean, fresh, and modern the place looked. It is very open and airy.

Veggie Drinks

After putting our order in, which was gladly taken by John O’ Neil, the general manager at this location, we went to get some drinks. We were given some great suggestions on things to try by him and we were not disappointed in the slightest. Everything that was recommended to us was spot on and left us craving more. Sometimes I like to come here just for their teas and lemonade! You will NOT find any carbonated beverages here, which is one thing I truly like about this place! Be sure to try out their ginger hibiscus tea, it is amazing. Perfect for these hot summer days to cool you down.

Haute Cuisine with Dominique’s Kitchen!

Haute Cuisine  with Dominique’s Kitchen!

By: Erin

Are you ready to go on an adventure to Paris that will delight your taste buds?  Do you have your passport ready to go? Well, if you don’t (at least if you are in the US)  you are in luck! Dominique’s Kitchen in Redondo Beach, CA is here!! Opening in October of 2012, this is an absolute jewel of a restaurant tucked in on the famous Pacific Coast Highway just minutes from the ocean & pier. Walking in, you truly feel transformed as if you are leaving the L.A. area and entering another country. Dominique’s is an intimate bistro, the tables are close & cozy to one another & the warm family atmosphere makes you feel right at home. Be ready to make some new friends when you visit Dominique’s! I have been to Paris, France before, so walking into this blissful place brought back many happy memories. I felt like I really was back in Paris.

The restaurant space is small enough to enjoy an intimate dinner, yet large enough to not feel claustrophobic. There is patio seating for the warmer summer days and nights outside as well as an indoor type patio that is covered with heaters should it get too cold.

DominiquesKitchenWhen the opportunity arose to review Dominique’s I jumped at the chance to try out this new Euro-French restaurant. A French restaurant, here, nearby? I didn’t have to fly to Paris for some good French food? Yes, Please! I have been craving a trip back to France, so this was a wonderful  substitute. Now, anytime I’m missing Paris, I just need to hop in the car and my new-found Paris vacation is just a hop, skip, and jump away at Dominique’s in Redondo Beach! I brought my fellow blogging buddy and dear friend Kirsten over at SoCal Kids Outdoor Adventures with me as I knew she could use a vacation just as much as I did and she loves to be adventurous and try out new things! 😉

Cavalia’s Odysseo: Galloping into our Hearts!

By Erin

Disclosure:received media tickets to attend the VIP tweet night in Burbank. I was not compensated for this post, all thoughts and opinions are my own.

D you know anyone who loves or admires the beauty and free-spirit of the horse? If  you are as horse crazy and love horses as much as I do, then you’ll want to go and see anything Cavalia does. Artistic director and creator Normand Latourelle has created another masterpiece with a dreamlike setting that mixes inspiring acrobatics and high-tech theatrical effects. Cavalia’s “Odysseo” is an odyssey to different enchanting lands. It’s like a Disney Movie, but even more magical with all the colors and dancing ponies that prance into your heart. The show opened in Burbank, on  February 27th,  2013 and runs until March 31st, 2013. I was ever so lucky to be invited out to their VIT (Very Important Tweep) Night on March 13th, 2013. You can bet I was beyond ecstatic to find out that after only dreaming of being able to go see this show, it was now becoming a reality, AND I was getting to go as a VIP? A week later, it still only seems like a dream! Lucky for me, I have many pictures (500ish)  from this magical night to show that indeed this most special night DID happen. 😉

Here is a mini version of our night, and what you can expect as a Rendez-Vous VIP with Cavalia!
