Wordless Wednesday: Rainbow Harbor in Beautiful Long Beach, CA

Wordless Wednesday: Rainbow Harbor in Beautiful Long Beach, CA

By: Erin

One of my favorite places to go to and spend a day at in SoCal is down at Rainbow Harbor, in Long Beach, CA. Growing up in Long Beach, I’ve seen how Rainbow Harbor has evolved and changed over the years and have many fond memories of the time spent here. Rainbow Harbor is located next to the Aquarium of the Pacific and Shoreline Village. Shoreline Village overlooks Rainbow Harbor with arcades and restaurants to please the whole family. With the Pike, Pine St. and the Queen Mary also nearby, you can easily spend an entire day here enjoying the outdoors in the bright, warm sunshine. Other attractions include Whale Watching, Dinner Cruises, Private Charters, Sport Fishing, Boat Rentals, Personal Watercraft Rentals and shuttle busses and boats to other attractions and facilities in Long Beach.

Here are some pictures and you can judge for yourself. Can you see why I love spending time here when I can? What would you most like to see here?

Skinny Jeans & Pinto Beans at La Sandia in Santa Monica Place! NEW! Latin Light Menu!

By: Erin

Disclosure: I was invited out to try the new Latin Light Menu at La Sandia. I was not compensated for this post and all thoughts and opinions remain my own.

Do you LOVE Mexican food like I do, but worry about the calories? Then you have to try La Sandia Santa Monica at Santa Monica Place in beautiful Southern California. They have teamed up with Chef and Dietitian, @dhenderiks to bring you a healthy menu full of awesome new flavors. The  Latin Light menu consists of all items being 500 calories or less. A Latin Light Margarita is under 150 calories! Latin Light fits in seamlessly into into the Los Angeles dining scene. Salud!

La Sandia

La Sandia Mexican Kitchen & Tequila Bar is serving up authentic Mexican cuisine with flare and style for your enjoyment. Chef Richard Sandoval is internationally recognized as the Father of Modern Mexican Cuisine and he authentically reinterprets classic Mexican dishes. The presentation, freshness, and flavor of his dishes is remarkable. The beverage menu is vast and is based around Latin favorites such as Margaritas and Sangria. This compliments their very expansive collection of tequilas, over 200 fine tequilas and spirits to quench your thirst and to pair up with your meal.

La Sandia is in a prime location and boasts a very welcoming, open and spacious place. I love the outdoors, and I enjoyed how La Sandia was able to bring the outdoors in to us as we dined. The gorgeous decor transforms a coastal Los Angeles space into an exotic and relaxing space in which one can enjoy Sandoval’s innovative Mexican dishes. Wherever you end up sitting at you will feel like you are dining outdoors in a beautiful setting, far away from the city.

Veggie Grill: Taste and Believe

Veggie Grill: Taste & Believe

By: Erin

Disclosure: This is not a sponsored post. I was invited out to try some of their new summer items as well as some of their favorites! All thoughts and opinions remain my own and I have enjoyed coming here ever since I found out about this place last summer! 🙂

I am not a vegetarian by any means. I do LOVE a good steak or other well prepared piece of meat. In my attempt to eat healthier and fresher foods and finding alternatives to your typical unhealthy fast food joints, I found this place. Veggie Grill! They have locations throughout Southern California, Northern California, Oregon, and Washington. Veggie Grill serves  food you can feel good about. They are proudly committed to serving 100% plant-based food. No matter what you enjoy at Veggie Grill, you can be assured that your food has no meat, dairy, eggs, cholesterol, animal fat or trans fat in it. It’s so good, that you’d never know it was vegetarian. 😉

Veggie Grill

I arrived at the Veggie Grill in Hollywood at The Dome on Sunset. I was pretty hungry as we had just walked over from the El Capitan after seeing a preview of the new Monsters University movie. I loved how clean, fresh, and modern the place looked. It is very open and airy.

Veggie Drinks

After putting our order in, which was gladly taken by John O’ Neil, the general manager at this location, we went to get some drinks. We were given some great suggestions on things to try by him and we were not disappointed in the slightest. Everything that was recommended to us was spot on and left us craving more. Sometimes I like to come here just for their teas and lemonade! You will NOT find any carbonated beverages here, which is one thing I truly like about this place! Be sure to try out their ginger hibiscus tea, it is amazing. Perfect for these hot summer days to cool you down.
